Say no and unplug

One thing that I'm proud of is my ability to unplug on the weekends. It took some training to get there, but I've reached goal. I hardly look at my phone on the weekends. I also never bring my phone into the bedroom. This helps me de-stress and live in the present.

Give yourself the permission to focus on what’s important. If your family or workouts are the most important to you, give yourself permission to put the phone away and focus on them or the gym. Set expectations with work or friends, and let them know that you will unplug on the weekend. Getting the unessential responsibilities off your schedule and the stress of always being available will not only create some extra time and space, it will also lighten the burden you’re feeling to keep up with it.
