Happy Friday!

We don't know about you but we are ready for the weekend. We had another busy week of preparing orders, planning new menus, testing new recipes, and not to forget the important voting for a new can opener. It's sometimes easy to forget to appreciate both the busy days and the weekends and to enjoy every moment.

Happy Friday!

This Week's Goal

Stellibell believes in karma. We post products from small businesses that we think our readers will enjoy but also to help others with business. We smile as much as we can and we let others out in traffic every day on our way to work. We truly believe that what you give you get. So this week, smile to strangers and open doors for others. You will see that you will be met with the same joy. Pass it on!

This Week's Goal

We all know that it’s not healthy to hold on to anger. It’s a waste of energy and it hurts the person who is holding on to the anger the most, so forgiving someone is a gift to yourself first and foremost. Buddha explains it the best.

“Holding on to anger is like grasping a hot coal with the intent of throwing it at someone else; you are the one who gets burned.”Buddha

If you are holding on to anger, your goal this week is to forgive the person. Do it for yourself.

Happy forgiving!

15 things you should give up to be happy

Great article about things you should give up to be happy. Our favorite is #4. Since this was one of our Weekly Goals earlier we are already masters of this one :)

4. Give up your self-defeating self-talk
Oh my. How many people are hurting themselves because of their negative, polluted and repetitive self-defeating mindset? Don’t believe everything that your mind is telling you – especially if it’s negative and self-defeating. You are better than that.

Make Stellibell work for you!

As our customer base is growing we are realizing how versatile Stellibell is. Thanks to everyone who has emailed us to share your stories with us. Regardless if you are a family of five or a group of roommates you can make Stellibell work for you.

Maria told us about how her and three of her friends have signed up for Stellibell together. They get together every Sunday, share a bottle of wine and have a blast cooking all the meals together. Everyone leaves happy with meals for the entire week. Even two friends can sign up for the 3-Day plan and cook together. They wouldn’t have to worry about lunch OR dinner for the entire week OR weekend! That is a great deal!

Memorial Weekend

Have a great Memorial Day weekend! Enjoy it the Stellibell way – food, fun, relaxation, and friends! That’s what life is all about. If you need to bring a dish to a bbq, why not bring a fruit salad? Can’t go wrong with that; quick, yummy, nutritious and pretty to look at. And if you add some vanilla ice cream to it, you have the perfect dessert.

We are on the same mission

We love Jamie Oliver’s Food Revolution and his wish to inspire a culture of fresh food. We are on the same mission!

“In his TED Prize wish, Oliver called for the creation of a foundation to inspire a food revolution through communication, education, social networking and by challenging corporate America and the food industry to help transform the culture of junk food into a culture of fresh food and cooking at home.”

Living Green Tips

Living green is very important to us here at Stellibell. Here are some tips on how you can become greener:

  • Reuse your Ziploc bags. Just turn them inside out and wash them.
  • Cut down on paper towel. Buy a dish rag made out of fabric. You can put it in the dishwasher and clean it with the dishes.
  • Buy glass containers instead of plastic ones.  They will last you longer and they are less toxic.
  • Bring a reusable bag to the supermarket, grocery store and mall when shopping. Most stores are happy when they get to save a bag.
  • Unplug your electronics when you don’t use them.
  • Turn off the faucet when you shower and brush your teeth to save water.
  • Sign up for online banking and stop receiving paper statements.
  • Shut of the light when you leave a room.
Small changes can have a big impact.

Do you have any other good tips? We would love to hear them!

Happy Living!

Meditation

Stellibell is so much more than just saving time cooking and eating healthy. It’s also about quality of life overall and enjoying each moment. Today when you’re cooking try to forget the noise and stress around you. Stay in the moment and focus on just what you are doing that second. Focus on cutting up the veggies, listen to the chicken as it’s frying in the pan and smell the different flavors as they spread in your kitchen. Cooking is a form of mediation that is good for body, mind and soul.

Happy cooking!

Weekly Goal

The team here at Stellibell is close knit group who are passionate about and always thinking about how we can become better people and make the world a better place. One thing we’ve done for some time now and that works well is that we come up with a new rule every week that we have to follow. The purpose of the rule is to create a new habit that will make us better people and that way also make the world a better place.
By adding new things slowly we have managed to change our behavior to the better (ok, some haven’t stuck as easily as we would hope….and we’ve had them as goals for several weeks…but it’s about the journey not the goal, right?) Moving forward we will share our weekly goal with you here and you can join us or try your own goals.
This week’s goal is to only think positive thoughts about ourselves.  Easier said than done. We can be pretty critical and too often think – ah, I’m such an idiot! This does more damage than you think. By being mean to ourselves we are allowing others to do the same. Not cool. So starting today, no more!

Breathe

Launching our company has been a lot of fun but it has of course also been very stressful and the most important thing to remember during stressful times is to slow down and breathe. If you have stressful days try to remind yourself during the day to stop and breathe. Just by taking a few deep breathes you will take down your stress level several notches. The more you practice it the more of a habit it is going to become and you are going to become a calmer person overall.  Soon nothing will face you. Try it out!

The 80/20 Rule

We at Stellibell practice the fantastic 80/20 rule. We are eating healthy and clean 80% of the time and 20% of the time we enjoy some ice cream, cookies or another sweet treat. Life is all about balance. We make sure we get all the nutrients and vitamins we need through our food, so that some treats on occasional moments won’t make any damage. If you always feel deprived it is going to backfire and you will overeat instead of treating yourself to smaller treats now and then. Genius huh?!

What's up with the logo?

What’s better to convey our message than an apple?  It’s right on message. Not only do they taste great, but they also provide essential vitamins, minerals and fiber that help to protect from chronic diseases. They look great, have awesome names like Red Delicious and have a lot of cool sayings like “an apple a day keeps the doctor away”. That’s the Stellibell way!

Heaven

We are in heaven. We still can’t believe we have launched. What can you expect from our team on this blog? Stellibell’s blog is an extension of our mission and goal; a place for relaxation, happiness and quality of life.
We are going to share all things we love and make us happy:
