8 pounds lost in 6 weeks!

Emma weighed in yesterday in our meeting. She has lost 8 pounds in six weeks, and this is with only making small changes to her eating habits (eliminating processed foods and sugar, drinking more water etc). From an exercise standpoint we've added daily walks and yoga three times a week. It was a huge motivation for Emma to see the scale this morning. You often see a bigger weight-loss in the beginning of your health journey (water loss in you body), and then it slows down.

So far it hasn't been to difficult for Emma to stay on track and to stay motivated. The headaches she was struggling with last week have gone away. The one thing Emma is missing is her afternoon coffee run with her co-workers where they usually would get coffee and a cookie. We talked about not focusing on what you have to give up. Focus on what you are gaining; more energy, happier, stronger, looking awesome etc. That is worth way more than a cookie. Also, if you are missing a food item, then find a healthier option. It's not about eliminating, it's about making healthy choices. From now on, Emma is going to have a fruit, some almonds or a small homemade cookie (to control the ingredients to ensure it's all natural) with her afternoon coffee. (A large store-bought cookie can be up to 400-500 calories, which is insane.)

Emma, I'm so proud of you!
