Emma's journey - time to create a timeline

Emma and I had our second meeting today. I'm just as excited about this new part of her life as she is. We focused on creating a timeline for her transition into her new healthy lifestyle. Like they say - failing to plan is like planning to fail. Creating a Timeline is a critical step to your success. These steps will set up Emma's plan and environment to becoming healthy, before we start focusing on her food and exercising.

We set dates for

  • When we will finish the Readiness and Kitchen Assessments, and clean out Emma's kitchen - 10/3
  • When we will finish the Goals and Progress Trackers - 10/17
  • By when we will have created the eating and workout guides - 10/24

A good way to keep track of your timeline is to check your it weekly. Adjust the timeline if a due date has slipped so that you are always tracking towards up-to-date due dates. Actually, mark your calendar as a reminder to check and update the timeline. Friday is a good day to review your tracking document, since it's a good reminder before the weekend starts. Check off every met due date so that you can easily see how you are progressing.

Another good trick is to write down the next due date in a place you can see every day (your planner, a family calendar or a post-in-note on the fridge door etc).
